Low Taxes

Anoka County supports businesses by keeping property taxes among the lowest in the state. Anoka County actually decreased property taxes for three consecutive years beginning in 2012 when the recession was at its worst. The 2016 levy rose 2.49% due to the transfer of costs from the State to the County for mandated services for children, vulnerable adults, and people with mental illness.

“Holding the line on property taxes keeps more money in the pocket of business owners, money that can be spent to improve and expand their businesses,”said Anoka County Commissioner Robyn West, who chairs the county’s Management Committee.
