Coon Rapids Blvd (CSAH 1) at Mississippi Blvd - Signal Replacement

Anoka County, in partnership with the City of Coon Rapids, is developing a preliminary layout for replacing and updating the existing signal system at CSAH 1 (Coon Rapids Blvd) at Mississippi Boulevard, with anticipated construction in 2023.


Coon Rapids Blvd (CSAH 1) and Xavis Street - Signal Replacement

Anoka County, in partnership with the City of Coon Rapids, is developing plans to replace and update the existing signal system at CSAH 1 (Coon Rapids Blvd) at Xavis Street, with construction anticipated in 2023.


109th Avenue (CSAH 12) and Austin Street - Signal Construction 


Lexington Avenue (CSAH 17) and 131st Avenue N.E. - Signal Construction

Anoka County, in partnership with the City of Blaine, is developing plans to install a new signal system at Lexington Avenue (CSAH 17) at 131st Avenue, with construction anticipated in 2023.
 

Coon Creek Boulevard (CSAH 18) Bridge Replacement

Anoka County, in partnership with the City of Coon Rapids and the Coon Creek Watershed District, is developing construction plans for the replacement of the structurally deficient CSAH 18 bridge over Coon Creek in Coon Rapids. The project will widen the bridge footprint to accommodate the future four traffic lanes north of bridge, along with pedestrian facilities on both sides of the bridge.


West Freeway Drive Realignment - North of Lake Drive (CSAH 23) 

Anoka County received a Local Road Improvement Program grant to fund a portion of the realignment and reconstruction of West Freeway Drive (CSAH 54), north of Lake Drive (CSAH 23), which is a City roadway under the jurisdiction of City of Columbus.  In addition, the City of Columbus has received funding thru the State Park Road Account to fund road improvements for the access into onto the DNR’s Lamprey Pass Wildlife Management Area (LPWMA).  Recent County and MnDOT geometric improvements on Lake Drive and TH 97 have changed the existing West Freeway Drive access to a right-in/right-out only.



Old Central Avenue NE (CSAH 35) and Gardena Avenue

Anoka County, in partnership with the City of Fridley, is developing a preliminary layout for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Old Central Avenue NE (CSAH 35) at Gardena Ave N.E.



Hodgson Road (CSAH 49) and County Road J/Ash Street (CSAH 32)

Anoka County, in partnership with Ramsey County and the Cities of Lino Lakes and Shoreview, has hired WSB to develop design plans for intersection improvements of Hodgson Road from Emil Street to Rohavic Lane, and County Road J / Ash Street from Grotto Street to Ware Road. 



Radisson Road (CSAH 52) at Cloud Drive - Intersection Improvement Project

Anoka County, in partnership with the City of Blaine, is developing a preliminary layout for improvements at the intersection of Radisson Road (CSAH 52) at Cloud Drive. 


Ramsey Gateway Project (CSAH 56 / CSAH 57)

Anoka County, MnDOT, and the City of Ramsey developed a locally supported vision of the Highway 10 corridor through Ramsey as part of the Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Study. The Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Project continues that vision with design of two grade-separated interchanges at Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard that will replace existing signalized intersections. Grade separation of the BNSF Railway and a new frontage road between Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard are also part of this design project.



Armstrong Boulevard (CSAH 83) and Alpine Drive - Roundabout Construction

Anoka County, in partnership with City of Ramsey, is developing a preliminary layout for the County Highway Corridor, CSAH 83 (Armstrong Blvd NW) at the intersection with Alpine Drive.  



2023 MnDOT Projects in Anoka County

US Highway 10/169 Improvements - Anoka Solution - Greater MN Gateway

The US Highway 10/169 Improvement Project will include reconstruction of three intersections (Thurston Avenue, Fairoak Avenue, and Main Street), pedestrian walkway improvements and frontage road improvements. The improvements would reduce congestion, increase safety, and provide a more reliable route through the area.   Construction is scheduled for 2022-2023.
