Assessment

The County Assessor’s Office is responsible for valuing and classifying the approximately 143,000 parcels located in Anoka County for property tax purposes. Per Minnesota Statute, each parcel must be reassessed at its market value every year as of January 2nd. We utilize physical data collected at least once every five years along with a detailed sales ratio analysis to determine market values on an annual basis as part of our mass appraisal process.

It’s important to note, assessed values are established long BEFORE any budgeting process takes place at the City, County, or School District levels.
