Introducing Your New SHIP Staff

Elizabeth Hagen - SHIP Lead

My name is Elizabeth Hagen, and I am the new Lead Senior Health Education Specialist for SHIP. I have been working in public health as a health educator, evaluator, and/or prevention specialist for the last 13 years. I have worked for tribal health departments as well as county public health departments in various grant related roles. I am also a mom of two rambunctious boys ages 7 and 9. I am very excited to get to know the team and start serving the people of Anoka county

Megan Barry - Communities

I’m Megan Barry and I’m a new Senior Health Education Specialist on the SHIP team. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Public Health in 2021 and spent the following two years working for St. Cloud Area School District leading their COVID-19 response. I’ve been with Anoka County Public Health & Environmental Services since spring of 2023 working in the Emergency Preparedness unit prior to joining the Health Promotion and Planning team. I’m looking forward to getting to know the community further and expanding opportunities for healthy living!

Tonayo Crow - Schools

Hello! My name is Tonayo (she/her) and I joined HP&P/SHIP on November 12th as a Senior Health Education Specialist, focusing on schools. I moved to Minnesota in 2022 for my Master of Public Health at the University of Minnesota, which I wrapped up in May. I am originally from the Seattle area but went to college in Maine, and then I moved to Boston for work and stayed for four years. I worked at a public health nonprofit where I built, supported, and facilitated trainings on a variety of public health topics. So far, I’m loving Minnesota and being in the Midwest. I can’t wait to dive more into SHIP and build relationships with schools in Anoka County!

Zoey Doto - Workplaces

Hello! I’m Zoey Doto, one of the new Senior Health Education Specialists on the SHIP team. I will be coordinating SHIP initiatives in workplaces throughout Anoka County. I am joining the SHIP team with 9 years of experience working with adults with disabilities through direct patient care, healthcare administration and management, and public policy advocacy. This past June I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with my Masters in Public Health but am originally from Minnesota and am a University of Minnesota alum. I am looking forward to connecting with you and creating healthier, more inclusive workplaces in Anoka County!

"Creating a Culture of Wellbeing" series to launch in February

A six-part culture series for wellness teams to examine their workplace culture will be offered again by the SHIP Workplace Wellness Team.

Based on the Workplace Wellbeing model created by Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and the Department of Health and Human Services, the MDH workplace team created a leader guide and six PowerPoint presentations and recordings to assist your organization’s wellness committee or leadership team in improving wellbeing culture to increase engagement, performance, and work satisfaction.

The series will be offered in six weekly sessions on Wednesdays 11 a.m. to noon, from Feb. 5- March 12. Click for more information and the registration link.
