WELL WATER WISE (3W) WEEK IS MAY 4—8, 2015
The Anoka County Community Health and Environmental Services Department is sponsoring its 16th annual "Well Water Wise" (3W) week promotion May 4-8, 2015 to encourage residents to check the safety of their private well water. During 3W, water samples can be submitted to Environmental Services at the Anoka County Government Center, Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Friday before noon. Residents are encouraged to have an annual analysis to determine if their drinking water supply is safe. The appearance of the drinking water is not a reliable indicator of whether it is safe to drink, which is why an annual well water test should be done. A laboratory fee of $30 will be charged for bacteria and nitrate analysis. In addition to testing for nitrate-nitrogen and presence of coliform bacteria, the Community Health and Environmental Services Department can provide analysis for arsenic, lead, fluoride, iron, chloride and total hardness, if requested, for additional fees.
