Bike to Work Week returns to Anoka County May 11-15, 2026—a simple, energizing, and fun way to try a new commute to work.
Anoka County will host its annual Law Day event from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 1, at the Anoka County Government Center and Courthouse. Free legal advice will be available in multiple areas.
Anoka County has two compost sites that accept grass, leaves, non-woody yard waste, tree waste, and organics (food scraps).
A free family fun event will take place 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 25 at Emma B. Howe YMCA, 8950 Springbrook Dr. NW, Coon Rapids.
Events will include a child safety workshop at 9:45 a.m., yoga for kids at 10:30 a.m., and music and puppets at 11 a.m.
There will also be community resource tables, an Anoka Kindness Rock Garden, and more.

Illegal dumping of non-hazardous waste and improper dumping of yard waste in streets, storm drains, wetlands, lakes, and other water bodies pollutes surface waters. Non-hazardous household waste includes items such as tires, furniture, common household appliances, and other bulk items. Yard waste includes any organic debris such as grass clippings, leaves, and tree branches.
